"Your Legacy, Protected. Your Wishes, Respected."

What is a Will?

A Will is a legally binding document that outlines how your assets and affairs should be managed and distributed after your death.

It gives you the power to decide who will administer your estate (your executors) and who will inherit your assets (your beneficiaries), ensuring your wishes are clearly communicated and legally upheld. It also provides certainty and reassurance for you and your loved ones.

To be valid, a Will must meet legal requirements, including proper signing and witnessing in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction.

  • "Over half of UK adults do not have a Will. Among those aged 55 and older, one in three still haven't made one. Many people believe they lack sufficient assets to justify creating a Will, or assume their loved ones will automatically inherit their estate."

What are the different types of Wills?

There are several types of Wills, each serving a specific purpose based on individual needs and circumstances. Here are the most common types:

Collapsible content

Single Standard Will

A straightforward Will that outlines how your assets will be distributed upon your death. It is suitable for individuals with uncomplicated estates and clear wishes for asset distribution.

Joint/ Mirror Will

Separate, almost identical Wills made by two people (typically spouses) with similar provisions. Each person can make changes to their own Will independently.

Testamentary Trust Will

This Will sets up one or more Trusts upon your death. It is useful for protecting assets for minor, disabled and vulnerable beneficiaries.

Estate planning offers a variety of Trust options within Wills, each providing unique control and protection. We can explore these options and their suitability for your needs during our consultation

Living Will

Although the title may suggest otherwise, this document is not a Will for asset distribution, but rather a legal document that outlines your wishes for medical treatment and end-of-life care if you become incapacitated and unable to communicate your preferences.
